Designers Statement
I used shoes to convey the message; Life is Better with Art in it because they’re items of everyday life that make your own life better with an artistic touch. I, personally, have a pair of red shoes that make me stand out from any other student in my school, and I do in fact color and paint them to make me stand out even further. It’s not just a fun thing I do when I’m bored, but it’s also a way for me to step out of the ordinary and into the extraordinary. In short; I took an item that’s usually taken for granted to prove that even in a world possibly narrowed down to black and white you can still manage to stand out and have a better life with the individuality of your simple shoes.
With the aspect of art, it’s been something I’ve done my whole life. My ability to translate my thoughts and ideas down on paper, or in any other medium for that matter, is a gift I wish to share with the world. I want people to see what I think through the characters and stories I make up and to then relate with them. Going through College and expanding my skills in art is how I wish to eventually display my ideas visually for audiences within the next four years of my life. Simply put, displaying my ideas in a way I love for the rest of my life is exactly why I’d love to get into the field of Graphic Design, more specifically into Media Arts and Animation.
