Designers Statement
In part of the design I used a model I borrowed from my first period class. I chose him mostly because of his obvious neutral appearance. I wanted a model who could demonstrate the extreme boredom of the average bland. I then proceeded to draw and create a more colorful and livelier cartoonist version of him. The metal heart in the center of his chest represents my personal feelings on art. I believe many people keep themselves closed off, but I feel art is a sure way for people to open up. To let their feelings take hold, releasing all the built up emotions and finally let them go. I think that's just one way art betters life.
Why I want to enter the Graphic Design Area
I honestly want to enter the graphic design area because I want to put my own creative view on the world. I want to share myself and my art with others in everything I can. But I also want to gain a new insight of everything I view now. I want to be one of those who can say, “I learned something new today,” and I believe graphic design will give me this, from the people I work with, the employers I have, and just the overall work of the project. I want to change the world in the one way I can. Even if it’s just a humorous commercial or a witty ad you read in a magazine.
