The Cool vs. Cruel Competition 2007 with the Humane Society of the United States
The Cool vs. Cruel competition encourages design students enrolled in The Art Institutes fashion programs all over North
America to produce fur-free, animal-friendly fashions by using their own creativity to replace real fur in fashion.
Dozens of students from The Art Institutes schools participated in this year's competition. Their entries were shown to a star-studded
panel of judges including celebrities and top designers. This year's grand prize winner, Jolie Benner from The Art Institute of Portland
received a trip to New York City for the award presentation on Nov. 8, as well as a paid week-long internship with a top designer.
And the winners are….
Grand Prize Winner: Jolie Benner, The Art Institute of Portland
Second Place Winner: Nathan Carter, The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale
