Career Services for Students
Career Services prepares students for the transition from campus life to career entry in their respective fields. Although Career Services does not guarantee employment, we do provide access to job search resources and employment opportunities as well as individual job search assistance. Services are available to all students enrolled in the college.

Services

Career Advising - Advisors are available to meet with students one-on-one to discuss all facets of job searching, including career options, resume creation and review, interview preparation and job search strategies. Students are encouraged to meet with their advisors early in the course of their programs.

Job and Career Opportunities - General and industry related part-time, seasonal and freelance jobs are available through the campus and online student job boards.

Workshops - Throughout the year Career Services offers workshops focused on job search skills and preparation. Workshops previously offered include resume writing, freelance basics and job search etiquette.

Job Fairs/On Campus Recruiting - Career Services coordinates quarterly student job fairs featuring employers recruiting for part-time and full-time positions. Past participants include companies such as Home Depot, UPS, Pappas Catering, West Elm and Nordstrom. Employers are also invited on recruit individually on campus for immediate hiring needs.

Resources - General and industry specific job search tools and information, such as sample resumes and cover letter guidelines, association lists, job applications, company literature, articles and more are maintained in the Career Services office.

Portfolio shows - Career Services hosts quarterly graduate portfolio shows. These events provide graduates with an opportunity to showcase their work to industry professionals, family and friends.

Employers can reach our students and graduates by advertising job openings on our student and alumni job boards and by working directly with our Career Services Advisors.

Employers can list general and industry related full-time, part-time, seasonal, temporary and freelance positions with our office, free of charge.

Portfolio Shows
Career Services hosts quarterly graduate portfolio shows and invites employers to utilize these events to find new talent for their organizations. Portfolio shows provide employers with the opportunity to view work and speak directly with graduates interested in field related employment opportunities.

Job Fairs/On Campus Recruiting
Career Services coordinates a quarterly student job fair to assist students with finding employment while in school and to assist employers with meeting their hiring needs. Employers may also schedule time to individually recruit on campus outside of job fairs. For more information, contact The Art Institute of Dallas Career Services Department.
