Video Cookbook Provides a How-To on Distinctive Dishes from Around the World

Students from The International Culinary Schools at The Art Institutes demonstrate recipes and share culinary knowledge in Web videos

PITTSBURGH, June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- North America's largest system of culinary programs, The International Culinary Schools at The Art Institutes, today unveils www.ExploreCulinary.tv. The site is home to a web-based video cookbook featuring culinary students preparing recipes from a host of global cuisines. The videos serve as a resource for culinary arts information and distinctive recipes from around the world.

"This program enables us to shine the spotlight on our students and give them the opportunity to put into practice and showcase what they have learned," said Michael Nenes, MBA, CEC, CCE, assistant vice president of Culinary Arts for The Art Institutes. "Americans have an appetite for an increased number of international flavors, so we prepare our students, the future of the food industry, to deliver a variety of cuisines from around the world and people can get a taste of this at our new site."

Each video features students from one of the more than 30 culinary schools throughout the country preparing dishes from cuisines including: African, American Regional, Asian, French, Indian, Italian, Latin American, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern. Beyond recipe preparation, students deliver background information on featured cuisines and cooking tips as well as demonstrate culinary techniques. New videos will be posted weekly and past videos archived. Visitors to the site can share and rate favorite videos.

ExploreCulinary.tv is a collaborative effort between students in the Culinary and Media Arts programs at The Art Institutes schools. Videos are filmed and edited by the Media Arts students while the recipes are created and demonstrated by Culinary Arts students. The site serves as a resource for culinary enthusiasts seeking food and cooking knowledge and recipes from a wide array of global cuisines.
