The Art Institute of Dallas Students, Faculty and Staff Gear Up for a Special Assignment in Support of National Week of Service: April 18-25, 2009
Members of The Art Institute of Dallas will team up on three special assignments that will promote goodwill and valuable support to their community during National Week of Service April 18-25, 2009.
The Art Institute of Dallas students, faculty and staff are no strangers to community service. Since its inception, the school has been actively involved in community outreach with various projects ranging from Habitat for Humanity to KittiCo to Children’s Medical Center.
This year, The Art Institute of Dallas students, faculty and staff have partnered with Bryan’s House, performing art projects with the children on April 23-24; building two houses for Habitat for Humanity on April 18 and 24; and cleaning up White Rock Lake with For Love of the Lake on April 25.
“Participating in the National Week of Service complements our campus environment of serving our students and serving the community where we live and work,” The Art Institute of Dallas President Tommy Newsom said. “Giving back to the community is always the right thing to do and we are proud of the work and support our faculty, staff and students have put into this important effort.” President Newsom will be lending a hand at one of the Habitat for Humanity sites.
