Community Outreach
Students, faculty, staff and alumni at The Art Institute of Dallas are extraordinarily involved in community outreach. We're active in community and government relations, college-wide and individual work with charity and other helping organizations, and community partnerships for better education throughout the city of Dallas!
The college continually seeks to build innovative community-based partnerships that are responsive to local needs in education, the arts and design, culinary activities and public affairs. To accomplish this, the college recruits faculty members who are interested in helping our community address its issues. We provide opportunities for students to achieve academic specialization in areas where there will be strong opportunities for employment and advancement. In this way the community influences the direction of our college and its programs, helping define who we are and what we do. At the same time, the college gives back to the community by focusing our students on learning projects that will ultimately offer resources and services to our community.
Community Arts Resource Exchange (C.A.R.E.) Program provides students with opportunities to apply their art and design talents to projects that support the needs of the community. The school selects community outreach projects that are a good fit with its educational programs and goals.

WebRaising 2005
What is a WebRaising? WebRaising brings together students from The Art Institute of Dallas and non-profit organizations from the community. Student teams work with non-profit organizations to develop a simple but functional Web site. While the planning of the event may take several days, the activities culminate in the gathering of students, non-profit partners and faculty and staff of The Art Institute of Dallas on one day to “raise” the Web site. The concept takes after the community based “barn raising” wherein people came together to help raise a barn for one of their members.
Applicants are ask to complete a WebRaising Beneficiary Application for consideration in this project.
