All Art Institute of Colorado applicants are evaluated for admission on the basis of their previous education, the 150-word required essay that they submit, and their demonstrated interest in one of the career programs offered at the school.

In addition, there are Admissions policies in place that may enable students to receive credit for Advanced Placement work or comparable studies completed in high school. Prospective students may also choose to be tested to receive general education advanced standing in their chosen program of study at The Art Institute of Colorado.
