Admissions

To creativity and beyond

Here's (almost) everything you ever wanted to know about entry requirements, tuition, what our catalog has to say, and even more.

Placement Testing

The Art Institute uses the ASSET Placement Test to test incoming students as to their preparedness to undertake college-level course work in English and/or mathematics. Applicants for all diploma and degree programs are required to take the ASSET Placement Test. The ASSET Placement Test is waived if an applicant has successfully completed previous college courses in math or English composition, submitted acceptable ACT or SAT scores, or has earned an associate’s degree or higher from an accredited school.

Students who participated in the Advanced Placement Program offered through their secondary schools may receive credit for comparable courses at The Art Institute of Colorado. Credit will be awarded for exam scores of three (3) or better on AP Examinations. AP Exam credit must be applied for and approved in advance of the first quarter of study. Exceptions may be granted through the Dean of Education's office.

High School Articulation Programs

The Art Institute has developed articulation agreements with high schools having coursework similar to that at The Art Institute. Students may receive credit for comparable courses at The Art Institute of Colorado. Contact the Transfer Credit Coordinator for more information.
