HOW SHE GOT THERE:
Internship at Z-Axis (a forensic animation company) turned into a full-time position after graduation
Moved to North Carolina and worked freelance graphic design and Web jobs
Worked more than two years as a digital artist doing photo restorations and graphic design for a photographer in Fayetteville
Hired by Carrot-Top Industries and moved to Durham/Raleigh
ADVICE FOR STUDENTS:
Be patient. Jobs aren’t always thrown at you. Explore different aspects of the art field before settling in. I did everything from animation to restoration and Photoshop work to land in the graphic artist job that I really love. Plus, try to have a website…the easier you can show your work to someone, the faster it is for them to consider you.
