JOB DESCRIPTION:
Works with in-house fashion designers to make their work space and showrooms reflect the individuality of their designs.


“I do this by making sure their space is fully functioning, so that they can be as comfortable and productive as possible. I am constantly being challenged to infuse the spirit of each brand image into the interior design of the space. In my world, no two days are alike.”


Oversees, facilitates and coordinates minor construction projects, furniture ordering and installs, and general maintenance for all Liz Claiborne locations: showrooms, corporate offices and warehouses in New York, New Jersey, California and nationwide.


THE ROAD TO SUCCESS:
Internship at IMG Marble, a stone fabricator in Denver


Worked for a local designer doing Auto-CAD and budgeting work


After graduation, worked at Designers Touch (interior design), as well as custom upholstery shop Brandt and Whitney, both in Denver


Moved to NYC and was hired at Liz Claiborne...within two years, she was promoted twice into her current position


ADVICE FOR STUDENTS:
“Don’t lose sight of what you want and get sidetracked too long in a first position. That’s where it’s comfy and what you know. Take that risk, and don’t be afraid to make big mistakes.”
