Alumni Services - Hall of Fame
For twenty-five years, The Art Institute of Colorado has honored its alumni who are internationally recognized professionals with prominent careers in fine art, photography, interior, industrial and graphic design, as well as the culinary arts at the annual Hall of Fame ceremony. Hall of Fame members are selected each year for their significant professional accomplishments and philanthropic spirit by members of The Art Institute of Colorado Hall of Fame, Executive Committee, Management team and Board of Trustees.
The school has over 11,500 alumni and more than 50 members have been inducted into the Hall of Fame over the past 25 years. Some of the past Hall of Fame inductees include: Mark Mock (Advertising Design, 1969), Elise Wiggins (Culinary Arts, 1998), Lance Jackson (Advertising Design 1975), Michelle Torez (Visual Communication 1986), Quang Ho (Advertising Design 1985), Goose Sorenson (Culinary Arts 1991), Peter Steinhauer (Photography 1993), Scott Gordan (Interior Design 1985), Roger Rios (Industrial Design 1980), and Jess DuBois (Illustration 1959).
This year, Art Institute alumni, staff, faculty as well as local employers and friends of The Art Institute of Colorado will gather to celebrate the induction of Kimberly Timmons, Owner/Designer Kimberly Timmons Interiors, 1987 Interior Design graduate, into the school’s Hall of Fame on Saturday, October 25 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Colorado History Museum.
Kimberly Timmons, ASID, has two decades of local and national interior design expertise. Founded in 1997, Kimberly Timmons Interiors (KTI) applies exceptional design principles and artistic vision to award-winning residential and commercial designs which includes hotels, clubhouses/community centers, dining facilities, recreational facilities, retail, spas and salons, sales centers, sales galleries, model homes, and information centers. Her career began at Designworks, where she worked for ten years designing sales pavilions and preferred guest units for many Del Webb communities and The Seasons in Cherry Creek.
Kimberly Timmons Interiors and Kimberly Timmons have been the recipients of over 50 professional awards since her graduation and various community awards for distinguished service. In 2008, Kimberly Timmons Interiors received three silver awards and two first place regional awards from ASIC in Orlando, Florida; two silver awards from the Best of 50+ Housing in New Orleans, Louisiana; and two first place awards from the ASID 10th Annual Interior Design Awards ceremony in Denver, Colorado.
Kimberly received the Community Affairs Award for Distinguished Service to the Profession on behalf of the Gathering Place and is on the board of HBA of Metro Denver 50+ Housing Council. She recently assisted the two-day community service project of rebuilding and renovating a home in New Orleans which was damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Kimberly explained, “This was an experience I will never forget; there is so much work still to be done. I hope to be able to help continue to contribute to this worthwhile cause.â€
