THE ART INSTITUTE OF COLORADO HOSTS FASHIONISTA SATURDAY EVENT
The Art Institute of Colorado will host 'Fashionista Saturday' on Saturday, September 27 from 8:45 am to 12:30 pm for high school students who have a 'passion for fashion.' This mini-workshop will offer students tips about fashion marketing, merchandising and retail management, as well as ideas to inspire them to enter The Art Institutes 'Passion for Fashion' Competition. The agenda is as follows:
- 8:45 am - Continental Breakfast and Welcome
- 9:30 am - 'What's Hot for Fall' Workshop
- 10:00 am - Parents Presentation
- 10:30 am - Passion for Fashion Workshop
The Art Institutes 'Passion for Fashion' Competition offers students interested in Fashion Design or Fashion Marketing, Merchandising or Retail Management an opportunity to compete for a full tuition scholarship to study at one of The Art Institutes schools. The Art Institute of Colorado offers a Fashion Retail Management degree program which recently celebrated its first anniversary.
Open to high school seniors across North America, The Art Institutes Passion for Fashion Competition was created to encourage and reward young fashion design and fashion marketing, merchandising and retail management talent at the high school level. Deadline for entries into the Competition is November 21, 2008.
In addition to a full tuition scholarship, the grand prize winning student in each of the two categories will receive an all-expense-paid trip to New York City for Fashion Week in February 2009 and a "meet and greet" at Seventeen magazine's offices.
To be eligible, students must be a senior in high school, set to graduate in 2009, complete an entry form, have a minimum G.P.A of 2.0, write a short essay describing their interest in fashion and submit a finished, originally designed eveningwear garment and process book, for the Fashion Design category or a create a product or plan for the Fashion Marketing, Merchandising and Retail Management category (for details go to
