Organizations & Activities
The Office of Student Affairs encourages students to get involved in the campus clubs, organizations and activities. Student organizations provide wonderful social, academic and professional networking opportunities. Students can choose from a variety of student organizations at The Art Institute of Colorado, including academic, cultural, recreational and social clubs. Please contact the Director of Student Development by calling 1.303.824.4911 or stop by the Office of Student Affairs, room 220 at the 1200 Lincoln campus, for a current list of student organizations and activities, as listed below:
- Brewing Club: Explore and learn the art of zymurgy (the process of brewing). The club samples and examines craft brews and brews ales and lagers. Students must be at least 21 years of age to participate.
- Campus Crusade: Connect with God while building fellowship with others. Events include conferences, retreats, bible studies, community service and weekly meetings on Mondays from 4 pm to 5:30 pm.
- Creations for Giving Club: Creates craft and art items for donation to specific charities and organizations. Members will have the opportunity to learn and use new skills and trades, be charitable and meet new people.
- Deadbeets Culinary Club: Provides events, field trips, restaurant visits and other activities for students.
- Fashion Club: Sponsors field trips, collaborative projects and speakers of interest for students in the Fashion Retail Management program. Contact the Fashion Retail Management Academic Department Chair, Academic Advisor or Career Advisor for more information.
- GLBTQ (Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender/Queer Alliance): Provides support, information and resources to GLBT students, their friends and allies.
- Hip-Hop Dance Club: Learn and perform the art of hip-hop dancing. The club meets regularly for practice sessions.
- Ice Carving Club: Intrigued by ice sculpture? Can’t wait for Garde Manger class to pilot a chainsaw? The ice carving club may be for you!
- Life Drawing Sessions: Offered on most Saturday mornings to provide students with an opportunity to gain more experience drawing from a live model. There is no cost.
- Molecular Gastronomy Club: Explores issues of flavor and texture by studying the molecular and chemical foundation of the culinary arts.
- Poetry Club: Meets to read, write and discuss poetry and other spoken word artistic expressions.
- r.a.d.: The goal of r.a.d. is to create networks among students and encourage individual creativity in order to develop a great portfolio. The group also offers critiques on student works and creates opportunities to be creative for the pure enjoyment of creating.
- Self Defense Club: Offers martial arts instruction and self defense skills. The club is open to both beginners and experienced martial artists.
- SKETCHophrenia.com: This Web site was created for flat art by students of The Art Institute of Colorado. Over 60 students currently have art on display.
