Quarterly Events

Student + Faculty + Staff Celebrations
Students, faculty and staff gather together once each quarter for an old-fashioned social that features a fun snack (like nachos or pie a la mode), while encouraging everyone to socialize and take a break from their work.

The MUSEketeers Field Trips
These quirky, quarterly field trips are open to all Art Institute of Colorado students, faculty and staff, and often to friends, family and children of students. Creativity is a crucial component of a successful career in the creative and applied arts, so our MUSEketeers field trips help to develop and inspire creativity through field outings that encourage interaction with artists from all creative disciplines. Past events have included visits to odd museums, architectural salvage yards and nearby state parks.

Poetry / Open Mic Gatherings
This is one of our most popular quarterly events that features not just poetry readings, but also rap, improv, storytelling, standup comedy and live music. Read or perform original work, select a poem from our collection - or just listen. Enjoy beverages, cookies and snacks!

Student Resource Events
The office of Student Affairs is dedicated to improving all aspects of the student experience at The Art Institute of Colorado and offers health, wellness and recreational resources and programs to nurture our students’ physical and mental health. Other departments such as Career Services and Academic Affairs offer professional development resources including guest and alumni lectures, employment fairs and internship fairs.

Service Learning Opportunities
Service learning is a teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility and strengthen communities. Each quarter, the departments of Student Affairs and Academic Affairs collaborate to sponsor service learning opportunities for students, faculty and staff. Past activities have included an annual food drive for students in crisis and community linked volunteer opportunities.

The Reel Thing
The Reel Thing Animation and Video Festival showcases students’ animation and videos on the big screen. Scheduled the last week of the quarter, The Reel Thing is free and open to the public.
