Career Services

The Art Institute of Colorado maintains a comprehensive Career Services Department dedicated to helping students find work while in school, and after graduation. Although the school can offer no guarantee of employment, we strive to cultivate employment opportunities and to match job leads with qualified students. Students can get advice and assistance with their résumé, job search, portfolio presentation and interview techniques.

Students seeking employment while in school are encouraged to work with our Student Employment Coordinator, located in Room 219 of the Lincoln Street building. Together, you'll explore part-time or full-time job leads that are both general and field-related. Also, get information about internships and what it takes to qualify for work-study opportunities. For students interested in field-related work while in school, we also maintain three job boards that are targeted to specific programs. They are located in the 1200 Lincoln Street building, the Culinary facility and at our Industrial Design location. A quarterly Job Fair is held at the Lincoln Street building, with a separate event for our culinary students at 675 S. Broadway.

Prior to graduation, you are encouraged to work with a Career Advisor specific to your field of study. Career advisors not only provide job leads compatible with your skills and experience, they can offer an overview of the employment market—along with individualized help in résumé enhancement, job-search techniques, interviewing skills and portfolio presentation. Advisors also work to increase industry awareness of The Art Institute of Colorado and its students. Professionals from the design and business community are invited to speak at the school, and potential employers are encouraged to visit every quarterly Portfolio Review.

Local, regional and nationally-recognized companies often utilize Career Services to recruit our qualified grads. The teamwork between Career Services staff members and the graduate's active role in the job-search process helps graduates of The Art Institute find entry-level positions in their field.
