2009 Fall Winter Fashion Trends Preview
Back
The Art Institute of Michigan Fashion Faculty and students were invited to the 2009 Fall Winter Trends preview organized by Fashion Group International. The event took place at the Detroit Historical Museum.
Trends for the coming season were presented by Marylou Luther, Creative Director, International Fashion Syndicate. Greek inspired drapes, 80's-like shoulder-padded jackets, impeccable tailored pant suits, and "recession-proof" fur coats and dresses were the must haves to dazzle anew next season.
After the presentation, Karen Buscemi, Editor, StyleLine Magazine and Joe Faris, designer and Project Runway finalist shared their fav trends and how they can be interpreted.
The event also included a silent auction, proceeds of which went to HAVEN, a nonprofit organization promoting initiatives to eliminate domestic violence and sexual assault.
