FAAD Fashion/Advertising

Creative Companions Come Together At The Art Institute

Advertising and Fashion event features speakers, student magazines, trunk show, and more

FAAD, an idea conceptualized by the advertising and fashion students of Jyoti Peswani's Public Relations class at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in collaboration with the Advertising Federation of Greater Fort Lauderdale (Ad Fed), will be hosting a South Beach Summer Nights symposium for Art Institute students, alumni, and industry professionals on Tuesday, June 2nd from 6-8:30pm, at The Mark K. Wheeler Gallery in The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale showcasing the talents of the advertising and fashion merchandising students, with their work displayed throughout the venue.

FAAD will also mark the launch of the newest issue of ICON fashion and lifestyle magazine by the fashion students, and promote BrandKarma the advertising student department's new magazine, both these magazines started off as an innovative experiment by Peswani and her students.

This symposium will allow students to interact with industry professionals from the advertising and fashion industries.  Guest speakers include:  Wagner, Founder, Experiential Marketing; Alexander Michaels, editor-in-chief of ModeMiami fashion and lifestyle magazine; and Jordana Engholm, president of Jordana PR International. A silent auction with a portion of the proceeds benefiting The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale's scholarship fund and a fashion trunk show exhibiting the talents of the fashion design students will also entertain guests.  Sponsors and The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale's café will provide hors d'oeuvres and wine.

Not only will this be a great event for internal networking, but industry professionals will have the opportunity to meet students in the hopes of gaining interns and future employees within their company.  Initially began as a Public Relations class project, FAAD has turned into an Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale movement and club joining students from the advertising and fashion departments with industry professionals.
