'Style Wars' Competition to Challenge Up and Coming Fashion Designers During "Simon Fashion Now™ Presented By Cadillac"

BOCA RATON, FL --Momentum is building for “Simon Fashion Now™ presented by Cadillac,” a free-spirited, high-energy celebration of style at all price ranges. As part of this national trend-setting event scheduled for 7 p.m. on Fri., Oct. 16 and 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 17, a fierce and creative competition, ‘Style Wars,’ will take place with local fashion students and celebrities.
Student teams from The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and Miami International University of Art & Design will participate in Style Wars-- an exciting fashion competition from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Oct. 17. Each team is charged with creating one wearable and fashionable design from scraps of fabric in just over an hour, while mall guests watch and cheer them on. The competition will be hosted by Rod Hagwood, Sun-Sentinel fashion reporter, with local celebrity judges including Maria Garcia, Coast 97.3 FM weekend on-air talent; Linda Behmoiras, The Boca Raton Observer publisher and Emily Pantelides, WPEC CBS 12 news anchor/reporter.

Simon Fashion Now™ presented by Cadillac begins at Town Center at Boca Raton on Fri., Oct. 16 at Center Court. Shoppers can expect to see an abundance of styles for men and women ranging from everyday wear to sophisticated evening looks. Public viewing of the season’s hottest runway shows will be available from the common areas. Unlike fashion week runway shows, each featured look will be available for immediate purchase at participating retailers. The show will introduce looks from Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Custo Barcelona, Elie Tahari, Henri Bendel, Hugo Boss and more.
Simon Fashion Now™ continues Sat., Oct. 17 at Center Court and throughout the mall, showcasing the latest fall trends in hair, makeup and clothing. The day will feature exciting runway shows and “style stops” – hair and cosmetic demonstrations by leading beauty retailers. Beautiful models provided by Page Parkes Corporation will strut the runway in fall looks from Town Center at Boca Raton’s hottest retailers such as Ann Taylor, Bluefish Sport, Bolufé, Cache, Coldwater Creek, Levenger, Macy’s, Nine West, Nordstrom, Talbots, Tommy’s Island and more.
