In this course on proper layout, students explore composition, perspective, and staging. Through tonal studies, students also learn how color plays an important role in setting a particular mood in an animated scene. [Prereq: ART1300C, ART2205C]

CU1001A, B, C Basic Culinary Skills
Courses cover fundamental concepts, skills, and techniques involved in basic cookery. Special emphasis is given to the study of ingredients, and the preparation of stocks, broths, glazes, soups, thickening agents, the grand sauces, and emulsion sauces. Lectures and demonstration teach organization skills in the kitchen, work coordination, and knife skills. The basics of vegetable, starch, meat, fish, and poultry cookery are covered. Emphasis is given to basic cooking techniques such as sautéing, roasting, poaching, braising, and frying. Students must successfully pass a practical cooking examination covering a variety of cooking techniques. Students also learn to identify and prepare salads, dressings, and other cold food.

CGS2800C Basic Web Design
Students acquire the skills needed to develop, design, and produce basic web pages, including conceptualization and design of a simple web site. HTML is studied as the basis for all web page layout, design and delivery. Additionally, the course examines the use of protocols over the Internet, web browser functionalities, file transfer utilities and domain name services. Students also begin the design documentation process. [Prereq: CS1010]

This course introduces the student to radio programming and announcing techniques and
equipment operation. Instruction begins in reading accuracy, diction, voice development, and interpretive reading. Students perform as music show hosts, commercial readers, and newscasters in the studio in actual on-air program formats.

This course exposes the non-native speaker/student to basic writing, reading and reading

Students are introduced to the plant kingdom. Students explore the diversity of plant organisms by examining plant cells, tissues, organs, their growth habitat, and fundamental concepts and processes of plants. This advanced course focuses on the essential concepts, skills, and strategies of brand marketing. Emphasis is placed on understanding consumer needs and motivations in a changing marketplace to support sales, increase brand recall, recognition, awareness and repositioning. This course provides an overview of the working aspects of the broadcast industry and how
broadcast integrates animation. Topics include production needs, equipment, and computer

This course exposes students to the disciplines used in finalizing a video or animation project using compositing software. The course reinforces compositing concepts, techniques, and vocabulary that were learned in previous courses and introduces more sophisticated tools and techniques. Students become responsible for every phase of a magazine format production, culminating in a broadcast to the community through cable access, closed-circuit, or other distribution avenues.
