Photography

With a passion for creativity or an eye for news-making, you are compelled to capture the moment - to tell the story through the lens of a camera and convey a once-in-a-lifetime image. That's what alumna Carol Guzy, three-time photojournalist Pulitzer Prize-winner, accomplished and you can too. The Photography associate's degree or Applied Photography diploma program will help you develop the skills you need to make a lasting impression.

“Focus” on an education taught by industry professional photographers who will help you develop values based in professional standards and practices and a skill set with a solid technical and design foundation.

Your curriculum includes color management, portraiture/editorial/location/fashion/studio photography, integrated media applications, small/medium/large formatting, and a variety of electives. Internships with newspapers, magazines, professional photographers, and businesses are available, as well as travel opportunities to enhance your educational experience.

At graduation, you'll be prepared to seek entry-level positions such as commercial photographer's assistant, to digital retouch artist, to portrait photographer. Your own personal style will reflect the work and commitment you make to a successful career as a photographer.
