Ticket Sales Benefit The Miguel Rocha Jr. Scholarship Fund
Los Angeles (May 15, 2009) – The Art Institute of California – Hollywood has chosen to pay tribute to the “red carpet” in recognition of the major role it plays in helping upcoming talented fashion designers achieve instant recognition. The 2009 fashion show, “Red Carpet: Your Night to Shine,” will be held on June 11, 2009 at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard, a symbol of Hollywood celebrity, glamour, entertainment and many red carpet events past and present.
This year twenty-five percent of the ticket sales from the fashion show will be donated to The Miguel Rocha Jr. Scholarship Fund through the EDMC Education Foundation. The Miguel Rocha Jr. Scholarship Fund awards tuition scholarships and stipends to deserving students for fashion design and fashion marketing and management projects related to college course work or school sponsored competitions and events; such as the portfolio show or annual student fashion show. Tickets are $35 for general admission. Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover Card are accepted. To purchase tickets contact 213.884.1280.
The Miguel Rocha Jr. Scholarship Fund was established in memory a fashion marketing graduate who was tragically killed by a drunk driver. Miguel Rocha, Jr. and his business partner started a company that produced t-shirts with earth-friendly messages called Cali-Green while attending The Art Institute of California-Hollywood. The company continues its mission to keep California green under the direction of Miguel’s former fiancée and business partner who opened a retail store in Santa Barbara.
The 2009 fashion show will feature these fashion design students who have created what they feel will shine as their red carpet winners: Sarah Caterinicchia, Seng Nan Dayu, Jannette Goss, Yuki Haya, Sarah Hunter, Christel Infante, Hye Eun Kim, Liz Kok, Quynh Lee, Linda Miller, Amanda Mixon, Diana Miranda, M.
