Where can I find out what books we have in the library?  Visit the library catalog library.aii.edu  (choose AI California Hollywood from the list)

How can I get research help?   Call the library at 213-884-1435 or email aicahlibrary@aii.edu

Where do I check books in and out?  At the library circulation desk

How can I renew a library book?  By emailing the library at aicahlibrary.aii.edu  or calling 213-884-1435

Where to I put books after I use them?  Please do not reshelve books or other materials, all materials can be placed on the library book cart so staff can put them away. 

How many materials may I check out at once?  You may check out 5 items at a time for up to two weeks.

What are the library hours?

Can I check out magazines?  Yes, please check the periodicals on the back shelf, they are arranged by discipline and then by title.

Do you have the textbooks for my courses in the library?
  Yes, all textbooks (except for those for online classes) are located in the library on the reserve shelf.  There are three brown wooden shelves and the reserve shelf is the one behind the large red pillar across from the entrance door.   All books are in order by subject (call number), if a particular text isn’t on the shelf, check the library cart, it could be there.  If you do not find, it please ask a library staff member.

Can I use the fashion forecasting books?  Of course, please handle with care and do not reshelve them.  The forecasting books circulate out of the library to faculty only.

Can I print documents in B/W from the library?  Yes, the library provides printing in B/W at no cost.  The sizes of paper are 11x17 (tabloid), 8/12 x 14 (legal), and 8 ½ x11 letter.  We don’t allow other paper to be used in our machine.  If you have special paper needs it should be addressed at the Print Center on the 7th floor.  You can make transparences in the library but it must be made with an approved paper. 

Can I print documents in color in the library?  No, but it can be done on the 7th floor using Print Services.  There is a price list available there.  Make sure you save your documents in PDF format.

How do I print documents in the library?  Save your documents as Adobe PDFs and make sure settings are set for Xerox Work Center 7665 both in printer and presets.  Make sure you are connected to the network (logged onto the machine as “student” / “student”), printing on the correct size paper and that no color settings are applied.

Can I get supplies from the library?
   No, but supplies can be purchased in the Student Store on the 7th floor, please ask them for a list of items they have in stock.  The library doesn’t provide supplies.  There is a table with a stapler, pencils, rubber bands, paper clips, double sided tape, scissors, regular tape and scratch paper.   Please keep in mind no cutting with knifes or gluing can be done in the library.

Can I make purchase suggestions for the library? – Your suggestions are welcome.  They can be made by filling out request form available in the library (insert form), or letting me know in person.

Can I scan items in the library?  Yes, there is one 8 ½ x 11 flat bed scanner in the back of the library however there are larger flatbed scanners in the 10th floor labs.  We can assist you with using it.

Using the photocopier – there are directions on how to use the photocopier above the screen.  Click on the copy icon, set to black and white, choose paper size and orientation that matches your original.  We can assist you with this.

Can you give me information on the Tutoring Labs – Please see Adam Leneham alenehan@aii.edu to set up an appointment or to get the schedule.  Tutoring does not take place in the library the is a writing and math lab on the 7th floor.

Can I rent equipment in the library?  No, equipment can be rented on the 7th floor at he equipment cage and print center (next to the bookstore) on the 7th floor.
