The Library staff offers students and employees at The Art Institute of Houston—North a diverse range of services to help them locate and evaluate the information they need for academic and professional purposes.
CIRCULATION
The Library contains materials in a variety of formats. Library resources are selected based on their ability to support the curricula taught at The Art Institue of Houston—North and meet the general needs of both students and employees.
The collection comprises books, videos, journals, databases and discs containing imagery files, sound files and software tutorials. Students and alumni may borrow as many as five items at one time. The borrowing period for books is two weeks and for discs is five hours. Videos and DVDs may be viewed in house. Library patrons must bring materials to The Library in order to renew them.
INTER-LIBRARY LOAN
The Library has borrowing agreements with other Art Institute locations. It also provides inter-library loan services.
LIBRARY INSTRUCTION
The Art Institute of Houston—North librarians offer specialized bibliographic instruction to individual library patrons and to groups. This instruction may be organized in the form of an orientation session or workshop.
Students are also encouraged to visit the librarians whenever they commence a research project. The reference specialist will help them quickly locate quality materials.

The Library staff will locate information in any subject for The Art Institute of Houston—North students and employees.
TECHNOLOGY RESOURCES
The Library houses computer stations for patron use. PCs provide access to the online catalog, the Internet and some Microsoft Office products. Macintosh G4s provide access to the online catalog, the Internet and software utilized in design classes, such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere. Complementary scanning and printing is available.
