It is the philosophy of The Art Institute of Houston–North that participation in extracurricular activities enhances your educational experience. The school supports student participation in student-based organizations. We encourage student participation in groups such as The American Society of Interior Designers and Student Government.

It is the policy of The Art Institute of Houston–North to allow students the freedom to choose participation in student activities. However, the school requires a faculty/staff member or department director's supervision or sponsorship of any student activity or organization.

The Student Government represents all Art Institute of Houston–North students and is the primary vehicle for student participation in institutional decision-making. Student Government acts as a voice on behalf of the student body and sponsors speakers, workshops, seminars and other activities. All students are eligible to belong to Student Government.
