The Art Institute of Indianapolis presents CREATE TOMORROW | A Fashion Motion Picture
INDIANAPOLIS – Hot fashion is set to hit the big screen and your computer screen this weekend. Fashion Design students from The Art Institute of Indianapolis will see their garments come to life at the college’s annual fashion show at the Toby Theatre in the Indianapolis Museum of Art Saturday, March 3 from 7 – 10 p.m. CREATE TOMORROW | A Fashion Motion Picture integrates fashion collections, film and visual effects to bring a fresh perspective to the traditional fashion show.
The ‘Fashion Motion Picture’ is as much documentary as it is fashion show, including interviews with 2012 senior fashion designers, location shoots in downtown Indianapolis on Massachusetts Avenue and at Broad Ripple’s The Red Room.
Within the movie three separate garment themes are explored. Eveningwear, menswear, and nine separate senior design collections will be showcased. An exciting collaboration between the fashion and media arts departments at The Art Institute of Indianapolis lets this fashion show ‘opt out’ of a traditional runway experience and experiment with nine senior digital artist-created stages that more closely match each fashion designer’s artistic goal.
Tickets are on sale now and can be reserved prior to the event (before Friday March 2 at 5:00p.m.) for $15 dollars by calling Rachel Kartz, 317.613.4916. Tickets are $20 dollars at the door the day of show.
