(Indianapolis, IN- June 2011)- Graphic Design student at The Art Institute of Indianapolis, Thomas Jackson, won first prize for the graphic design category in the Experience Bonnaroo Student Competition hosted by The Art Institutes. Students from each program competed with other students from their academic program across The Art Institutes system of more than 45 schools.
“When I had found out that I won, it literally felt like hitting the lottery. I really didn't think I had a chance considering the odds. I feel privileged to be attending and am looking forward to working with the creative team,” Thomas said.
To offer every student in The Art Institutes community a chance to share in the excitement of the 2011 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, The Art Institutes introduced the Experience Bonnaroo competition. Through this competition, 15 students earned an expense-paid trip to the 2011 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival.
Thomas is one of four students who earned the staff access experience and will be working with the creative team from Bonnaroo throughout the festival.
Thomas’ competition entry consisted of a 28 page interactive publication for the World Wildlife Foundation. He designed the publication and layout, and chose photos from Getty Images to illustrate articles he found on the WWF website. The publication has interactive links that take you to other websites and to videos.
Another Art Institute of Indianapolis student, Ashley Wallace, earned a Fan access experience with her entry in the graphic design and visual communications category.
