President's Bio

Emam El-Hout has been the President of The Art Institute of California-Inland Empire, since May, 2008. With over 17 years experience in higher education administration and leadership, he has served in various roles with The Art Institutes and its parent company, Education Management Corporation of Pittsburgh, Pa.

Before being promoted to his present position, Emam served as the Regional Vice President of Finance for The Art Institutes, Western Region from 2004-2008. In this capacity, he managed the financial operations of all of the Art Institute schools in the Western Region. His responsibilities included compliance with federal, state and local regulations, the integrity of financial statements and assisting campus leaders in managing annual capital planning, strategic and financial goals and operational forecasting.

From 1997-2004, Emam was the Director of Administrative and Financial Services (DAFS) for The Art Institute of California-Los Angeles.  In this capacity, he supervised a $40 million annual campus budget while managing  student financial services, accounting, facilities and the student store.  He achieved one of the lowest bad debt ratings among all Art Institute schools and passed all campus audits with negligible findings.

Before joining The Art Institute of California-Los Angeles, Emam served as an auditor at Aetna Life Insurance & Casualty in North Hollywood, Ca. and at Blue Cross of California in Woodland Hills.  Prior to this position he was a staff accountant at CLC Training Corporation in Los Angeles.  Earlier, he held positions as Financial Aid Administrator, Staff Accountant and General Accountant at ITT Educational Services (ITT Technical Institute) in Van Nuys, CA.

Before assuming his present position, Emam served as the Interim President of The Art Institute of California-Hollywood during 2006 and The Art Institute of California-San Francisco during early 2008.

Emam is a native of Egypt and earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt. He and his wife Hoda live in San Clemente, Ca.
