The Art Institute of California—Inland Empire hosted its 2nd annual Fashion Empire Fashion Show and soiree Saturday, June 12, 2010 at The Lewis Playhouse at the Victoria Gardens Cultural Center in Rancho Cucamonga. The event promoted the school’s Fashion Design and Fashion & Retail Management programs. Over $13,000.00 was raised to go towards scholarships for these programs.
The festivities begin with red carpet arrivals and seating at six o’clock. The event extravaganza included performances by Marc Bosserman, Gedina Bergstrom, String Theory, and the finale fashion show followed by a deliciously catered reception. The venue also features two VIP reception rooms with cocktails (and champagne served by aerialist bartenders hanging upside down from giant hanging chandeliers), passed appetizers, silent auction items to bid on and more.
Fashion Show and Event Producer, Quyenzi Pham of Q.Zi Productions, themed the event and Student Design Competition: The Art of Glamour. The décor included a custom built runway with a giant framed archway and hanging chandeliers. It was a combination of Art Deco, Hollywood Glamour, and a little bit of contemporary styling. The fashion show itself included sponsors’ looks (Enzoani, Stop Staring, Sue Wong, Hugo Boss and many more) as well designs from the Student Competition Finalists: Ashley Brawthen, Daniel Bolt, Erica Jennings, Sara Vigil and Jessica Kircher.
“This year, we are adding a real world experience to the fashion show, by allowing students of The Art Institute of California—Inland Empire, to compete for the opportunity to be showcased in the fashion show, as well as earn a first prize scholarship in the amount of $2,500 and a second prize scholarship in the amount of $1,000,” states Emam El-Hout, President of The Art Institute of California—Inland Empire.
The Panel of Judges: Kevin Ou, Brenda Lorenzi, Randy McLaughlin and Sherry West voted on the beautiful student designs; and, named Jessica Kircher the First Place winner of the Art of Glamour Student Design Competition. Jessica earned a $2,500 scholarship. Sara Vigil, who came in 2nd Place, earned a $1,000 scholarship.
