History
Founded in 2006, The Art Institute of Jacksonville is one of The Art Institutes, a system of more than 40 schools across North America.
Mission
The Art Institute of Jacksonville is a learning-centered, career-oriented institution serving the educational needs of its students and industry through undergraduate programs with growth potential. Our mission is to prepare our undergraduate students for entry-level positions in their chosen fields. The school achieves its mission through the offering of quality higher education. The institution is dedicated to fostering a culture of learning by providing an academic environment that encourages creative and analytical expression.
The school's goals are:
- To foster within students the desire to maintain high levels of professionalism in their chosen careers and continue learning throughout their lives while contributing to their community and society,
- To provide students broad foundations in the theory and practice of their chosen occupations,
- To help students identify their personal, academic, and career goals within the specific fields offered and to help them develop means of achieving these goals,
- To ensure a continuous quality improvement process that encourages growth and facilitates learning for all constituencies,
- To encourage the academic freedom of instructors in a student-centered environment,
- To recruit and retain a qualified faculty with the appropriate academic credentials and professional experience,
- To offer student support services that recognize the diversity of the student population and provide a safe and comfortable learning environment,
- To continue to provide students with a vehicle for life-long learning in their field by providing accessible graduate level instruction in appropriate disciplines.
