The Art Institute of Jacksonville Names Dr. John Pufahl as President

[JACKSONVILLE, FL, AUGUST 4, 2008] The Art Institutes are pleased to announce Dr. John Pufahl as President of The Art Institute of Jacksonville.

The Art Institute of Jacksonville, a branch campus of Miami International University of Art & Design, occupies the entire three-story Liberty Plaza building, with approximately 48,000 square feet of dedicated space at 8775 Baypine Road. 

The school is currently set to have an open house on August 9, 2008.

Dr. John Pufahl formerly served as interim President at The Art Institute of Jacksonville, Vice President/Regional Academic Affairs Specialist for The Art Institutes, a role he occupied for three and a half years.  John also served as Vice President for Academic Affairs at South University.

For more than a decade he was President of Avalon Health Group, Inc. and fulfilled administrative roles in academic affairs, student services, and institutional development at Union County College in New Jersey, where he was also Senior Professor of English. John’s academic career began as a part-time instructor at Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio.

He earned a Doctor of Education in English Education from New York University, Master of Arts degrees from the Ohio State University and from Eastern Kentucky University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Rio Grande University in Ohio.
