Enjoy elegant global cuisine and white linen service at a great price in Opus Too, the student-run restaurant at The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of Las Vegas.
Opus Too will delight, excite and satisfy you: this student-run restaurant provides an upscale cuisine that draws its’ inspiration from the culinary regions from around the world. Students demonstrate the skills they developed throughout the course of their studies in the culinary arts program and apply this experience to a real-world restaurant environment. Opus Too is the students’ final passage prior to graduation.
"Opus Too is designed to be a progressive global restaurant that features the freshest ingredients, friendly and knowledgeable service, found in a unique environment where great food is center of the plate," says Culinary Arts Academic Director Philip Pinkney. "Managed and operated by culinary students, Opus Too allows students to practice the theory and culinary artistry they have been taught and honed over the past two years in an exact restaurant experience. From back of the house operations in menu creation and food preparations, to the front of the house, as trained service staff and managers, our students receive the complete experience."
Established as part of the curriculum, culinary arts students are required to run all facets of this fully-operational restaurant that is open to the public. The restaurant is under the direction of two professional chef instructors who oversee every aspect of menu selection and the monitoring of overall food quality, cooking techniques and timing as well as the front-of-the-house restaurant operation from customer service and traffic flow to menu pricing and management of the profit and loss statement.
Opus Too accommodates up to 36 guests in a comfortable and elegant setting within the campus of The Art Institute of Las Vegas campus at 2350 Corporate Circle in Henderson, Nevada. This Green Valley restaurant features a self-playing baby grand piano, natural light, a well-equipped professional exhibition kitchen where guests can view students at work while enjoying interesting selections from a limited beer and wine menu.
All however take a back seat to the food. "Big flavors and aromatic pairings with premium ingredients and contemporary presentations embody the cuisine of Opus Too," says Pinkney.
The menu can only be described as excellent quality for a great price. Lunch [and dinner when offered] includes the diner's choice of appetizer, entree and dessert for just $10.95 plus tax and gratuity.
