The Art Institute of Las Vegas Students, Faculty and Staff Gear Up for a Special Assignment in Support of National Week of Service, April 19 to 25, 2009
[HENDERSON, NV, APRIL 19, 2009] – Students, faculty and staff from The Art Institute of Las Vegas, will team up on a special assignment that will promote goodwill and valuable support to their community during National Week of Service April 19 to 25, 2009.
The Art Institute of Las Vegas students, faculty and staff are no strangers to community service. Since its inception, the school has been actively involved in community outreach with various projects ranging from developing an anti-crime video created for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department geared towards teens, creating a websites for organizations such as Nevada Arts Advocates, designing marketing materials for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and hosting children’s nutritional cooking classes with the Junior League.
This year, The Art Institute of Las Vegas student’s faculty and staff have partnered with Three Square Food Bank to raise "Cans for the Cause." Throughout the week of April 19 – 25, students, staff and faculty will be challenged to bring in more than 2,500 non-perishable food items to support the Food Bank at Three Square. In addition, the school will host a "Jail-N-Bail" where staff and employees will be convicted for the cause of raising scholarship funds for students. 100% of the funds generated will be given to students as scholarships through the EDMC Education.
