Founded in 1983, The Art Institute of Las Vegas was formerly known as the Interior Design Institute and later the Design Institute.  The school became part of The Art Institute System of Schools in April 2001 and moved into a new facility at 2350 Corporate Circle in Henderson, Nevada. The Art Institute of Las Vegas added a second building at 2340 Corporate Circle to meet the growing needs of our campus in November 2007. In January 2008, The Culinary Institute of Las Vegas (a division of The Art Institute of Las Vegas) was renamed to the International Culinary School at The Art Institute of Las Vegas.

The mission of The Art Institute of Las Vegas is to continue to be a leader in providing postsecondary education programs in the creative and applied arts in an environment where students who actively participate can maximize their creativity, enhance their professional development and acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue a career at the entry level in their program of study. The staff and faculty endeavor to provide students an environment that encourages free expression, leadership and responsible decision-making that will enhance their professional development.
