The Art Institute of California, Los Angeles has a long tradition of preparing students for careers by providing a challenging educational environment that responds proactively to changing technologies and the needs of the marketplace. Admissions Decisions
Admissions decisions are made by the admissions committee, which is comprised of members of the college's faculty and staff. The committee determines whether an applicant has a reasonable chance to be successful based upon his or her academic record, essay, and the appropriateness of the applicant's stated career goals as they relate to the chosen program of study. The committee may request additional information or require the applicant to meet with an academic director prior to making a final decision. The admissions decisions are usually communicated to the applicant within two weeks.
Requirements
This is what's needed to apply to The Art Institute of California, Los Angeles:
1. An interview, either in person or by phone.
2. A completed application form.
3. A 150-word essay is required.
4. Your high school transcript or GED scores.
5. A $50 non-refundable Application Fee.
6. A $100 enrollment fee.
Note: Applicants to the Game Art & Design program must have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 from high school or have achieved a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA in at least 24 semester or 36 quarter credits at an accredited college or university. In addition the Game Art & Design program has a portfolio requirement. Speak to an Assistant Director of Admissions for further details.
