The Next Food Network Star VIP Viewing Party and Tasting Event at The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California - Los Angeles
(Santa Monica, June 4, 2009) - The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California - Los Angeles is partnering with Food Network to kick-off the new season of the hit TV show The Next Food Network Star. On Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 1 p.m., The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California - Los Angeles (2900 31st Street, Santa Monica) will host an invitation only VIP viewing party for the first episode of The Next Food Network Star, where ten finalists compete for the ultimate dream job - their own show on Food Network.
In attendance will be Eddie Gilbert, Debbie Lee, and Jeffrey Saad, three of ten finalists on the show. Eddie, 30 (Los Angeles, Calif.), is a graduate from Vanderbilt University with two degrees and now expands his culinary knowledge by working as an apprentice in a Los Angeles restaurant. Jeffrey, 42 (Los Angeles, Calif.), a California Culinary Academy graduate, has more than 25 years experience as a restaurateur, food consultant, recipe developer, and chef. And Debbie, 39 (West Hollywood, Calif.), is a former Hollywood caterer and now shares her branding and menu-planning expertise as a restaurant consultant.
During the event, attendees will be able to taste signature dishes prepared by these three finalists with the help of students from The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California - Los Angeles. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to view the first episode of The Next Food Network Star minus the elimination. New and current students from The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California - Los Angeles are among the party attendees.
The Next Food Network Star premieres Sunday, June 7 at 10p/9c. As television's most challenging food fight, the series provides 10 hopeful TV chefs the chance to compete for the ultimate dream job: his or her own Food Network show. Iron Chef Bobby Flay leads the selection committee that ultimately decides the winner's fate and launches one lucky man or woman into a food and television celebrity. To start things off, the finalists must cater Food Network's "Sweet 16" party with network talent and media there to judge. The series will air throughout the summer on Sundays at 10p/9c, until the finale on Sunday, August 2, when the winner will be revealed!
