In an ancient age of magic one man has sent out a call to the most powerful wizards on the planet. They have gathered here to the great mountain-castle Stargon to compete for the Staff of Power in the great contest The Mage's Mayhem.

Long ago in the peaceful kingdom of Gallendoria their lived a princess named Ardena. Her father was a strong king and her mother was a sorceress. Ardena was a spirited young woman and enjoyed traveling the whole of her kingdom. One day she happened upon an ogre in the woods. Her guards drew their weapons and prepared to defend her, but she saw something in the poor creature and called them off. The ogre was eternally grateful to her for sparing his life. In the years that followed the two grew a friendship. As the princess would secretly visit the ogre from time to time. If her father the King knew she was consorting with an odd creature in the forest, he would surely forbid it.
As time went on the ogre began to fall in love with the princess. When he had not seen her for some time, he traveled to the castle to visit her. But when he arrived he was driven away by the castle guards back into the dark woods. Once word of this "visit" got to the King he confronted his lovely daughter and forbid her to ever return to the forest and to never again have contact with the terrible creature.
Being away from the princess for so long began to drive the ogre mad. When he could no longer endure his pain he returned to the castle under cover of night and secretly found away inside. When he arrived to her chambers she was startled but glad to see her old friend. He admitted to her his love and when she refused him it was more than he could bare. He forced himself upon her and fled into the night. Alerted by the subsequent screams of the princess the ogre was discovered attempting to escape the castle. The creature was captured and brought before the King. When the King learned of what this monster had done to his daughter , he ordered him killed on the spot. In the months after it became apparent that Ardena had become pregnant. She could not bear the idea of destroying her own child and so she gave birth to a son, half-human, half-ogre. She named him Kurze.

As Kurze grew older he was outcast from the kingdom. He swore revenge. Years later he amassed a band of ogre's and returned to destroy Gallendoria. A old companion of the king's, the powerful wizard Mallikar was sent for, but he arrived too late. The beautiful kingdom of Gallendoria was laid to waste. Mallikar knew that Kurze had to be stopped, but he was unable to defeat him alone. He was able to banish him though, to another realm.
Mallikar rebuilt the king's castle in the hallow of a nearby mountain to serve as a barrier to the nether region. For he knew one day that Kurze would return to unleash his evil on the world, and that this time he would have to be prepared.

It has been 3 years since Kurze was banished. Mallikar knows the time may be near when Kurze will attempt to return to Earth. Mallikar has decided to assemble a team of the most powerful wizards on the globe to confront Kurze once and for all.
