About this work:
Richard’s wood and glass chess set and table shows off his skill in materials and manufacturing techniques. To create a complete chess set, Richard had to understand fixtures, jigs, and other mass production techniques—skills that he gained in the Manufacturing Techniques class at The Art Institute of Colorado. Richard’s work demonstrates his grasp of functional design, production of multiple identical parts, as well as aesthetic sensibility.
