About this work:
Karl Dolder and Kekoa Gallant’s wooden folding chair design exhibits their understanding of the concepts of ergonomics, manufacturing, computer-aided functional design, and craftsmanship. This design was selected as Best in Show in Overall Furniture Design at the 2009 Design Within Reach Student Design Competition. Their creation is comfortable, easy to store, and attractive—and lends itself to mass production. These attributes are what make a design a success—and are the skills Karl and Kekoa learned in furniture design and model making courses at The Art Institute of Colorado.
