[PITTSBURGH, PA November 2011] -- The Art Institutes Passion for Fashion Competition was created to encourage and reward young fashion talent with a tuition scholarship towards a fashion program at one of The Art Institutes schools. Deadline for entry into the competition is January 20, 2012.
“If you’re a high school senior with fashion smarts, enter The Art Institutes Passion for Fashion Competition. It may be your first, memorable step towards putting your fashion business ideas or fashion design ideas to work towards your future,” said John Pufahl, Vice President, Academic Affairs for The Art Institutes.
Two national competition grand prize winners (one in each competition category) will earn a half- tuition scholarship to their respective Art Institutes school, receive a VIP trip to New York City, participate in a “meet and greet” at Seventeen magazine’s New York City offices, have lunch with a Seventeen Style Pro, receive a $500 shopping spree at DKNY with the Style Pro, and a $500 gift card to shop anywhere in the Big Apple.
The two categories in The Art Institutes Passion for Fashion Competition are: (i) Fashion Design and (ii) Fashion Marketing & Merchandising and Retail Management.
To be eligible to enter, a student must be a high school senior scheduled to graduate in 2012. In the Fashion Design category, entry requirements include submission of an original evening wear design.
