School’s faculty, staff and students will raise crayons and supplies for local at-risk children
TROY, Mich. – October, 2011 – The Art Institute of Michigan — Troy, a new school offering students a convenient and dynamic environment in which to study creative arts disciplines, announced it will host a crayon-raiser from Oct. 10 – 25 for Operation: Kid Equip. The crayon-raiser supports the nonprofit organization’s mission to provide the basic school needs for children of low-income families.

As part of the crayon-raiser, The Art Institute of Michigan — Troy faculty, staff and students will reach out to their families, friends, churches and local community organizations in an effort to raise a total of 500 boxes of crayons. In addition, the school will be open to members of the community who would like to show their support by making in-person donations at its Troy campus.
Donations of crayons and other school supplies will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Mon. through Fri., at The Art Institute of Michigan — Troy located at 1414 E. Maple Rd. All donations received will be presented to Operation: Kid Equip during a private grand opening celebration at The Art Institute of Michigan — Troy on Oct. 26.
