Position Summary:
Responsible for sustaining an environment of academic and professional excellence for students and educational team members. Duties include a mix of instruction and student advising. The Academic Advisor works closely with the Educational Team in pursuit of persistence endeavors.
Key Job Elements:
1. Maintain direct contact with student advisees. This includes meeting with individuals as well as small groups of students on an ongoing basis as well as maintaining quarterly office hours.
2. Development of advising action plans: implement and monitor. Maintain Student Profile information including parent information, health issues, financial, academic progress, personal problems, language barriers and employment issues.
3. Advise students concerning scheduling, attendance, and academic progress and curriculum issues. Maintain access to attendance files with notification and documentation in a timely fashion.
4. Inform and help students access all available services. Apprise students of housing options, staying current with financial obligations, and direct students to Counseling when deemed necessary.
5. Discuss student progress with instructors.
6. Monitor grades and question weak performance areas and act as brdge between student and advisor.
7. Work with the Education Department to ease student tansition during the registration process which includes creating and processing special and regular schedules and reporting to apppropriate registration staff.
8. Other duties as assigned.
Reports To: Academic Affairs Campus Head
Interacts With: School directors, faculty, registrar, student services, admissions, and student financial services.
Position Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Education or similar field or equivalent experience.
2. One to three years experience working in an academic advising role in a field relevant to the School's programs, preferably in a post-secondary institution. Understanding of curricula and how students fit into it.

5. Ability to manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines.
