Professional Background: Seasoned Practicing Architectural and Interior Architecture Designer with more than 20 years of both professional and academic experience in the fields of Architecture, Interior Design and Architectural Computer Graphics. Senior Project Architect & Project Manager for a mid-sized architectural firm in Miami, Florida. Director of The CADD Institute of Miami since 2000. Over 16 years of teaching experience for private and public organizations including: Miami-Dade Community College, Design & Architecture Senior High School (Miami, FL), and Universidad Central de Venezuela (Caracas,Venezuela).

Awards/Honors: Design Award “Educational Facilities” – Annual Award of Architecture in Venezuela 1984; Active Member of “Colegio de Ingenieros de Venezuela” since 1982; nominated and appointed Interior Architectural Designer for an International Banking Organization creating corporate prototype facilities for their private banking offices internationally (current).


Mary Malm, Department Chair of Visual Arts & Photography

Education: M.F.A., Painting, University of Miami.

Professional Background:Worked as an exhibition specialist for the Miami Dade Public Library System, Art Services department, designed and installed exhibitions for all Dade County Libraries; eight years working for Florida Conservation Associates, technician, cleaning and restoring paintings by artists: Hans Hofmann, Adolph Gottlieb, Lee Krasner, Elizabeth Murray and Basquiat; worked as a scenic painter for Radio Shack, Univision and Telemundo.

Awards/Honors: Full scholarship and teaching assistantship, University of Miami; awarded Outstanding Teaching Assistant for the College of Arts and Sciences; listed in Who’s Who in American Colleges. Nominated for Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers (2004-2005).

Exhibitions: Her work is in many public and private collections including Miami Dade College and Arvida Corporation.

Mona Mandall - Visual Arts

Education: M.F.A., Printmaking, Pratt Institute; B.F.A., SUNY at Stonybrook 1980

Professional Background: Taught for several years in the New York public school system while freelancing; worked for Gerry Wind and Associates doing custom color printing and reviewed art exhibits for the Phoenix newspaper in Brooklyn; South Beach Grafix for 13 years illustrating and designing logos for local businesses; Mid Eastern Dance Exchange, illustrated and wrote articles and sat on the board of directors; Sierra Art and Fellowship foundation; helped to organize the “One Mile Long Heart” project; taught printmaking, drawing, painting, sculpture, and plein air painting at the Bass Museum School of Art and Miami- Dade College.

Publications: Commissioned to do a series of chiropractic posters for commercial sale by Bauer Publications (Hollywood, FL); helped design and construct a public mosaic mural for Margaret Pace Park (Miami), and designed the cover and painted illustrations for the book “Haiku Therapy” (2005).

Recent Exhibitions: University of Miami, the Boca Raton Museum of Art, with the Hortt Exhibition, and at Gallery Vincent (Miami).Work also in the permanent collection at Stony Brook University.

Arthur Rockower

Education: A.A., Arts and Sciences, State University of New York Brooklyn Museum School of Art, Art Students League.

Professional Background: Career in graphic arts spanning 45 years. Held positions as art director, production manager, account executive and advertising manager. Creative director of his own design studio. Taught 11 years at the university level.

Awards/Honors: Member of SUNY alumni association, elected to Graphic Arts Honor society Gamma Epsilon Tao of SUNY graphic arts department. Four years military service US Army. Received outstanding faculty award (2003) from Miami International University of Art and Design. Awarded most inspirational teacher by graphic design graduating of 2003 - 2004.


Neri Garcia Stivalet

Louis Ulman - Visual Arts

Education: M.F.A./M.A., Painting, University of Miami, 1970/1969; B.F.A. Florida State University 1966 

Professional background: Practicing professional artist for over 30 years in Florida and New York. Taught at Miami International University of Art & Design, Miami Art Center, Miami Dade College, University of Miami, Goddard College Vermont, and the Art and Cultural Center of Hollywood. Served as a mentor artist for the American Diabetes Foundation fundraiser; completed several pastel demonstrations for professional art groups, taught a 30-hour course on figure drawing at the Technical University of Loja, Ecuador; conducts four workshops each year for the Pakey Dental Institute; completed mural commissions for Burger King International, Specs Music and Bankers Club of Miami, portrait commissions and court room drawings for major federal cases; testified as expert witness in copyright infringement case. 

Exhibitions: Work included in the permanent collections of the Loew Museum, Florida International University Museum, Banker’s Club of Miami, private collections, and at Miami International University of Art & Design; exhibited at Miami International University of Art & Design’s Spring 2005 Faculty Art Show “Love What You Do,” the Miami Art Museum Invitational, New Realist in America, the Portrait Artist’s show (Lowe Museum), and the Atlanta Artists Exhibition; solo exhibits at Spring Street Gallery in New York City and New York University art gallery.
