From Model to Award-Winning Designer, Amanda Day wins Evening Gown Award at Style '09
Miami, FL March 31, 2009 - On March 26th, over 113 students of Miami International University of Art & Design showed off their creativity, talent and hard work as part of the annual fashion show held under the white tents on South beach. Amongst the winners is Amanda Day, whose vision finally paid off after many months of hard work, long hours and late nights sewing endless yards of fabric and hundreds of buttons and fasteners. After "strutting" the runway as a model, Amanda was finally able to experience the runway from an award-winning fashion designer's perspective.
Guests were greeted into the tent with the accessory design exhibit, followed by the runway tent where fashion came to life. There were a total of three judges for the event: Ms. Christina Martin, Regional Director for Fashion Group International, Juliana Costa, Designer of Ju Ju Costa, Valerie Beiner Managing Director of Global Trends. The winning designs and designers for this year's event are as follows:
