Fashion Presentation for High School Seniors Featuring Rene Ruiz

Miami, Fl  September 15, 2009 -- Award-winning alumnus, Rene Ruiz, known for his high-end couture fashions, will be speaking to high school students attending the Fashion Open House event scheduled for October 10, 2009 at 10am in Miami International University of Art & Design. The event is part of the Fashion Open House event and workshop featuring a mini-fashion show with professional models followed by “Show & Tell” workshops for students interested in Fashion Design and Fashion Merchandising.

The event showcases some of the opportunities available in the fashion industry and in a fashion education giving students a glimpse into the world of fashion. High school seniors interested in fashion will have the opportunity to get tips and information on The Art Institutes 2010 Passion for Fashion Competition offering students interested in Fashion Design or Fashion Merchandising an opportunity to win a full-tuition scholarship to study fashion at one of The Art Institutes schools, including Miami International University of Art & Design. Eligible students can enter the Fashion Design or Fashion Merchandising competitions at Miami International University of Art & Design.

Rene Ruiz is well-known as the go-to designer for celebrities and socialites. His Coral Gables flagship atelier showcases his custom couture, ready-to-wear, bridal and men’s collections, in addition to serving as the design headquarters for his lines.
