Xander Zoteras, Film & Digital Production Alumni wins at Delray Beach Film Festival

Miami, FL - June 19, 2009 - Miami International University of Art & Design 2008 Film alumni Xander Zoteras won two awards for his thesis film, "Ditched".

"Ditched", is a film comedy Zoteras submitted to compete against over 200 entries from around the world including films by university colleagues from surrounding universities.  Zoteras recieved the Sara Fuller Award for Best Young Filmmaker along with the award for Best Student Short by a Florida Filmmaker awarding him a $500.00 scholarship for continued studies in the field.

"We are very proud of Zoteras' accomplishments - he is an extremely talented filmmaker and we know he will continue to impress us in the future," John Maass, Film Chair.

In addition to Zoteras' film, there were four additional films screened from the university as part of the Florida filmmakers program: "Echo," "Without a Soul," "The Choice," and "Casa de los Arabes".
