Miami International University of Art & Design Students "Reveal" Advertising Campaign
Miami, June 16, 2009 - On June 13, 2009, AdFed Miami student and Ad2 Miami president, Jose A. Resendez Jr., unveiled a touching new campaign for StandUp For Kids, a nonprofit organization that gives homeless youth and at-risk teens in Miami the opportunity and skills to help end the cycle of homelessness. The "Reveal" took place at Chi Alma Lifestyle art gallery in the Wynwood Art District where over 300 guests not only got an up close opportunity to see the multi-media campaign, but also a live performance from SONY BMG Artist, Jean Rodriguez who was featured in the television campaign.
The campaign's objective of increasing awareness in the number of homeless youth in Miami is directed toward encouraging the South Florida community to take action by donating time and funds to this cause. The media strategy for the campaign includes television, radio, print, out-of-home, and a strong online presence in both English and Spanish. The broadcast portion of the campaign recorded at Miami International University of Art & design's green-room studio, features the voice and special appearance of recording-artist JEAN Rodriguez, from SONY BMG. The production of the campaign included University advertising and filim students working together toward a common goal.
"I feel that all industries have a responsibility to share their unique talents to local causes for the benefit of their community; as an advertising student, this was simply my way of giving back and bringing awareness to a cause I feel very strongly about," says Jose A. Resendez Jr.
Miami International University of Art & Design is no stranger to community service, having recently placed on the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for exemplary community service efforts and as the recipient of the Education Industry award from the Beacon Council earlier this year. "Committment to community is very important in our school, it is something that we strongly encourage amongst our students; but to see our students using their talents in such a profound way always makes us proud," Erika Fleming, president of Miami International University of Art & Design.
The students are looking to local media to donate media space for the official campaign to launch. If you are a media outlet interested in donating time and/or space, please contact Jose A. Resendez thejoseresendez@gmail.com
