For many students, attending Miami International University of Art & Design marks the first time they are independent of their families and friends. Many are unfamiliar with their surroundings: a new town, perhaps, a new state or, for some, a new country. Our counseling services are here to assist our students with making a smooth transition. The counselor can help students sort through various feelings and issues which may arise. There may be other students that have no problem with transition but may encounter personal issues. All counseling is always confidential in accordance with Florida Statute 491.0147 of the Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family, Therapy and Mental Health Counseling.

Miami International University of Art & Design encourages any students seeking additional assistance or support to utilize the counseling services. There is no charge for these counseling services and appointments and walk-ins are welcome.
