Miami International University of Art & Design map

Miami is served by two main airports: Miami International Airport (MIA), about 12 miles (19km) west of downtown and the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport (FLL), about 30 miles (48km) north of the city. MIA is one the busiest airports in the United States with a large number of aircraft and passengers moving through it each day. It is also referred to as the gateway to Latin America, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean Islands.

MIA is conveniently located just six miles from the University. Shuttle, taxi, train, and bus service is available from all terminals.

Taxi and SuperShuttle service are available 24 hours a day for transportation to and from MIA. SuperShuttle information can be obtained by calling (800) 874-8885.

The Tri-Rail commuter train provides service from MIA to Broward and Palm Beach counties. You can catch the Tri-Rail at Le Jeune Road on NW 21st Street. The Metro-Rail train provides transportation throughout Miami-Dade County and has a convenient stop right next to the University. Shuttle connections to Metro-Rail and to the Tri-Rail station are available from the Concourse E Bus Station on the ground level. For additional information, call (800) TRI-RAIL.

Metro-Bus is the local, city bus service which provides scheduled service to all areas of Dade County.

Take Airport Exit on NW 21st Street
Continue towards SR-112 East/Beaches (I-95 N/South Le Jeune)
Continue on N Le Jeune Road
Merge onto the SR-836 East/Downtown I-95 ramp
Continue onto I-395 East
Take the NE 2nd Avenue/Biscayne Boulevard (US1) Exit (#2B)
Bear left on NE 11th Terrace
Turn Right on Biscayne Boulevard
Turn Right on NE 15th Terrace

From Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood Airport or Fort Lauderdale Metropolitan Area: (22 miles)
Take Airport Exit on Terminal Drive to US-1 South
Continue on SR-AIA South to Griffin Road
Take I-95 South Ramp from Griffin Road
Merge onto I-95 South
Exit NE 2nd Avenue (US1) Exit (#2)
Turn Left on NE 11th Terrace
Turn Left on Biscayne Blvd
Turn Right on NE 15th Street
Enter OMNI Parking Garage on Left

From Miami Beach: (4.5 miles)
Take the Venetian Causeway (westbound)
Venetian Causeway turns into NE 15th Terrace and intersects with Biscayne Boulevard
