At Miami International University of Art & Design, you will be part of a community
where diversity is our strength and the integrity of each individual is respected. Our
students' active contribution to campus life supports the creative and intellectual
evolution of everyone at the University. The diverse student body at Miami International
University of Art & Design ranges in age from 17 to 70, hails from 60 different countries,
50 American states, six U.S. territories, and represents a tremendous blend of
nationalities, religious affiliations, and cultural identities in the world today. As
of fall 2005, approximately 1,500 students were enrolled in the University.
Located in the heart of Miami’s emerging Arts & Entertainment District, our students
have the opportunity to work for major corporations, hear speakers of international
acclaim, volunteer for civic organizations, and enjoy all the amenities a large city
has to offer — major league sporting events, concerts, theater, world-renowned restaurants,
and a cosmopolitan social scene. Although the University currently has an enrollment of
more than 1,100 students, there is still a strong sense of community and abundant
opportunities to build friendships that last a lifetime. Students are never too busy
to spend time with one another, supporting their friends and colleagues, both personally
and professionally. As you can see, Miami International University combines the vibrancy
and opportunities of a large city with the warmth and friendliness of a small town.
